Golfhäftet New Partner Of ANNIKA Invitational Europe

Golfhäftet is the new national main partner for Annika Sörenstam’s international junior tournament, ANNIKA Invitational Europe, for the next three years. ”I am very happy that Golfhäftet wants to join us on this journey, which is so important for the development of women’s golf,” says Annika.

ANNIKA Invitational Europe has been played in Sweden since 2012 and is one of seven annual events arranged by ANNIKA Foundation around the world, in USA, China, Argentina and New Zealand.

In 2019, more that 600 girls and young women from 60+ countries competed in these events. In Sweden the tournament is arranged together with the Swedish Golf Federation.

The event is open for 78 female juniors up to 18 years old, and the field includes the best ranked players in Europe. The tournament is part of Women’s World Amateur Golf Ranking and is a qualifying event for Ping Junior Solheim Cup, which is played right before Solheim Cup in Ohio in 2021.

New partner provides increased visibility for the event

Golfhäftet will become the new national main partner of the event in Sweden for the next three years. The event is planned to be played at Isaberg Golf Club between the 14th and the 17th of June, 2021, if the COVID-19 situation allows. The event will return to Halmstad Golf Club in 2022, and Vasatorp Golf Club in 2023.

The cooperation with Golfhäftet enables a development of the visibility of the tournament, with increased communication over the channels of Swedish Golf Federation as well as Golfhäftet’s own channels. This year the event can be followed live on web-TV through KlubbTV.nu.

"I am really looking forward to this year’s event at Isaberg Golf Club, especially after last year, when we had to cancel all our tournaments because of Covid-19. This year we could finally continue with our events and the Diamond Resorts ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex in Florida was the first event in a year. I am always looking forward to the Swedish event and to get the chance to give back. I am very happy that Golfhäftet, who makes an important contribution by supporting women’s golf, wants to join us on this journey, which is so important for the development of women’s golf", says Annika.

We are incredibly excited for this opportunity! The ANNIKA Invitational Europe has quickly become an important foundation within amateur golf for female juniors. This is done totally in line with our focus on golf of the future, where juniors and females are crucial for the development of the sport, says Fredrik van Speijk, CEO and co-founder of Golfhäftet.
