Augusta National Women's Amateur Championship
Updated: Dec 19, 2019
The ANNIKA Foundation would like to congratulate the Masters Tournament and Augusta National Golf Club on the creation of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championship. The new event will bring the top 72 female amateurs from around the world to Augusta beginning in 2019. The final round of the 54 hole stroke play championship will be played at Augusta National Golf Club the Saturday preceding the Masters Tournament.
Annika, along with the Foundation, look forward to many of our alumnae competing on this grand stage. There is no doubt this will serve as a wonderful platform for these women to advance their careers.
“I am thrilled by the prospect of Augusta National inviting the world's best amateur women to compete on the greatest stage in golf. I know this exciting opportunity would have made me work harder when I was younger.
It was an honor to join Chairman Ridley and Dr. Condoleezza Rice for this historic announcement. I have tremendous respect and appreciation for them both, along with all other members of Augusta National Golf Club. I look forward to our ANNIKA Foundation continuing to grow and inspire the next generation of women golfers around the globe.”
