The field is set for the 2023 Augusta National Women’s Amateur, which will be played March 29 – April 1, before The Masters begins.
The 72-player field consists of 45 players who have played in previous ANNIKA events, including the 2022 ANWA champion, Anna Davis. She played in seven LPGA Tour events after her win and was the youngest champion in ANWA history. Other ANNIKA alumnae competing include six past ANNIKA champions: Brooke Seay (2017 Hilton Grand Vacations ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex), Ingrid Lindblad (2019 HGV ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex), Rachel Kuehn (2019 ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M), Julia Johnson (2021 ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M), Meja Ortengren (2021 ANNIKA Invitational Europe) and Yana Wilson (2022 HGV ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex).
Top ranked players in WAGR, Rose Zhang (No. 1), Amari Avery (No. 8), Hannah Darling (No. 12) and Fiona Xu (No. 18) are other ANNIKA notables. Stanford sophomore, Rose Zhang has had an incredible year so far with five victories out of six starts. The 2022 ANNIKA Award winner played in the Arnold Palmer Cup, Curtis Cup, and the Women’s World Amateur Team Championships while representing the United States this past summer. Amari Avery, a sophomore at USC, made two appearances at Augusta National with her best finish in last year’s event at T4. Scotland native, Hannah Darling has collected three top five finishes this year at South Carolina including a T5 finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M this past September. Lastly, 2022 Australian Women’s Amateur champion, Fiona Xu, has had six starts worldwide, including three top-3 finishes. This will be her first time competing in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
