Davis Takes Lead at the ANNIKA Invitational

Orlando, Fla. - On moving day at the 14th annual Hilton Grand Vacations ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex Anna Davis of Spring Valley, California, moved into the top spot on the leaderboard at 11-under-par 135.

The 14th annual Hilton Grand Vacations ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex boasts a field featuring the best female junior golfers from around the world. The 72-player field includes twenty-nine Rolex Junior All-Americans, 13 of the top-25 girls in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and six within the top 10.

Davis, a 2024 graduate, had the low second round shooting an 8-under-par 65. Davis started her day on the back nine opening with three birdies and an eagle on hole Nos. 10 through 13. Her bogey-free day continued with pars to close out her front nine. Once Davis made the turn she birdied Nos. 2 and 6 before closing out her round with a birdie on No. 9.

Davis jumped on the national junior golf scene in 2021 with her win at the annual PING Heather Farr Classic. The No. 2 player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings won the Girls Junior PGA Championship in July before making two team golf appearances on the PING Junior Solheim Cup and Junior Ryder Cup United States team.

In solo second, three strokes back of Davis, is first-round leader Yana Wilson of Henderson, Nevada, at 8-under-par 138. Wilson also went bogey-free on the second round. The 2024 graduate recorded birdies on hole Nos. 12, 13, 2 and 9 for a second round 4-under-par 69.

Katie Li of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, and Vanessa Zhang of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, are tied for third at 5-under-par 141.

Li, who started her day on No. 10, put together an impressive back nine birdieing hole Nos. 5, 7, and 9 to finish the day 3-under-par 70 and moving into second. The 2022 AJGA Player Representative to the Board of Directors is looking for her first invitational win this week.

Zhang moved into a share of third after a 4-under-par 69 second round. The 2024 graduate is coming off a 2021 season that included five top-10 finishes and one AJGA win.

The final round will take place at Eagle Creek Golf Club on Tuesday, January 17, from 8:30 to 10:20 a.m.
