The field is set for the third edition of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur which will be played March 30 – April 2, ahead of The Masters.
Out of the 72-player field, 50 players have competed in past ANNIKA events. They include 10 past ANNIKA champions with our most recent champion, Yana Wilson, winner of the 2022 Hilton Grand Vacations ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex. Other past champs include Beatrice Wallin (2016 ANNIKA Europe), Brooke Seay (2017 HGV ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex), Lei Ye (2018 HGV ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex), Ingrid Lindblad (2019 HGV ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex), Rachel Kuehn (2019 ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M), Benedetta Moresco (2020 HGV ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex), Avery Zweig (2021 HGV ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex), Meja Ortengren (2021 ANNIKA Invitational Europe) and Julia Johnson (2021 ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M). In addition, our 2021 ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel recipient, Rachel Heck, will be in the field who finished tied for third in last year’s ANWA.
Other notables are top-ranked players in WAGR, Rose Zhang (No. 1), Emma Spitz (No. 7), Carolina Lopez-Chacarra (No. 9) and Emilia Migliaccio (No. 10). Zhang, a freshman at Stanford, collected three wins in her first three collegiate starts becoming Stanford’s first golfer ever to win their first three events in school history. Zhang placed T3 in the 2021 ANWA. UCLA’s Emma Spitz was the Bruins’ top finisher in seven of nine events last year and finished tied for third in the 2021 Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Wake Forest’s Carolina Lopez-Chacarra has had a hot start this spring season, winning her first two events and recording the lowest individual 54-hole score in program history. Former Deacon Emilia Migliaccio will return to Augusta after finishing 2nd in the second edition of ANWA.
