In 2016, The ANNIKA Foundation partnered with The R&A to establish the ANNIKA Invitational Latin America, the fourth event in the ANNIKA Invitational series of global events.
The first three years of the event will be held in Argentina in cooperation with the Argentine Golf Association. Beginning in 2019, the event will move throughout Latin America. Each year, the champion of the event receives an invitation to the South American Amateur, while the top-three finishers receive invites to the ANNIKA Invitational USA presented by Rolex at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla.
Martin Slumbers, Chief Executive of The R&A, said, “We are delighted to be working with Annika to establish the ANNIKA Invitational Latin America and this is another important development in our efforts to support the growth of golf in the region.”
As with all of her foundation events, Annika is intimately involved during the championship. Some scheduled activities are a clinic for competitors during which she’ll share her “Winning Approach” philosophy, a gala dinner and an awards presentation.
